Brian and I got our house all "holiday’d" up today. He and Brian Stout hung up all our outdoor lights and I worked on the indoor lights while Chance was napping this afternoon. Chance woke up halfway through our project… which made for an interesting set up for me. Chance helped… not really.
Then, the boys went to the Reichen’s tree farm and brought home a 7 foot beauty. I love the smell of fresh pine trees. *sigh* Once we got it perfectly centered, I got to work on it right away. This year’s theme is GOLD. Everything on the tree is gold. It bright and shiny.
What is it about having Christmas decorations up that makes it feel so much more relaxing in the house?
While we were decorating the tree, the Singley’s came over. They brought us dinner and their kids (Nick, Maddie, Chloe & Jack). After hanging out for a bit, Matt and Jenni left for their 10 year anniversary LOVE trip to Cancun. Jenni’s never left her kids for this long, so it was difficult parting… but the kids did well.
We watched "Hello Kitty" (though I’m Asian and should be familiar with Asian cartoons… I can’t say I am… at ALL) and I then got everyone off to bed. We cuddle, prayed and they’ve been off in dreamland since 8:20pm (minus Nick who read till 9:30 then went to bed). I think Chance likes having all these brothers and sisters around.
Brian left to go play poker with the boys at 8:30pm so I finished up the tree, put away the decoration boxes, tucked Nick in and got a potroast going in the stockpot for tomorrow’s lunch. I’m playing bass for two services so Brian is a single father of 5 tomorrow. Hey MAY beat me once I return home tomorrow afternoon for signing him up for chaos… I figure if have lunch ready, the beating will be less severe.
Anyway… today felt good. I feel like I got a LOT accomplished. I love that feeling.
I have a well lit home and a full home. Feels good.
