A Weekend Trip?

It’s been a while since Brian and I have gotten to go away anywhere together (without the responsibility of doing something… like weeding my mother’s lawn). Brian suggested we head out to the beach (my favorite place in the world) for an overnight trip without Chancey. I’m pretty excited about that except we have two problems…

1. We don’t have someone to watch Chance overnight.
2. We don’t have a place to stay because “Hood to Coast” has overrun the area.

It would be fun to watch some of our friends run through the finish line… but we may have to ditch the whole idea of going away if we don’t find a solution to our two problems.

Maybe we can take a trip down to 23rd. It’s almost as good…

New Computer… continued

Okay… so I’m blogging from Lulu, our new computer for the first time (Matt fixed it for me… and for the record, he had to take it all apart, so it wasn’t just a "power button" issue).  It’s nice.  Everything looks different from a PC than it does from a Mac.  Seriously… even this post page I’m on.  I can blog in whatever now, depending on my mood.

I’m waiting for Lulu to crash on me any minute now.

Stay tuned!

New Computer

Indextop20060501_1For those who know me well, know that I support Macintosh products 100%. My iMac is my baby. It sits on my desk and whispers sweet nothings into my ear. However… I honestly love computers. ALL COMPUTERS. I won

My Princess… for only a few minutes

Dsc_5700_1Dsc_5701_2I turned around from my computer this morning to see my son like this.

He had somehow placed this on his head on his own and declared himself a princess.

He’s so cute, I had no other option but to post the pictures.

He walked around for 5 minutes saying “Mama-Boo.”

Not sure what that means.

How is it possible to love someone more and more each day?

Update

I got online this morning and in the “How-To” section of my google homepage it said, “How to Make a Bra Purse.” I couldn’t imagine anything more ridiculous so I had to click on it. My thoughts have been confirmed… DUMBEST THING EVER, next to drinking milk (which is just cow mucus).

Anyway, back to blog-worthy issues. My sister, Helen, is in town for a few days. It’s exciting because during the year, I rarely see her. She goes to the College of William & Mary in Virginia so it’s quite expensive to fly home for a quick visit. The last time she saw Chance, he was 3 months old so he wasn’t doing anything really fun except cooing. Now he’s all over the place… LITERALLY.

She and I are going to take a run this morning with the good old jogging stroller. She just bought new running shoes yesterday so I think she wants to break them in. I don’t usually run on pavement (cuz it KILLS my knees) and she’s been sick for a few days… so we’ll see how that goes. My stroller has been a space killer in the back of my rig for quite some time, so it will be nice to put it to good use today.

Chance has grown up fast. His 4 top teeth have popped through, and for some reason, to him, it means he can bite me whenever he wants. Um… NO!!! He’s eating almost everything we eat now plus some (he eats dirt too… I personally don’t have a palate for dirt, but hey… whatev!) He’s close to running, but it’s that cute baby run with his arms up in “Hallelujah” form. I was thinking about teaching him how to run “correctly,” but I’ve seen Jay try to do that with his daughter, Macy, and it’s all just turned out really bad. She is probably the MOST awkward runner I’ve ever seen in my life. So… I’ll just let nature takes its course.

Silver Falls

We hiked Silver Falls today. It was sweet. I mostly wanted to go because my in-laws got us a new Kelty KIDS baby backpack and I wanted to try it out. I also haven’t run all week so it was a good choice for cardio.

Dsc_5691_2Dsc_5651I took Chance all the way down the canyon and Brian took him back up. We took the long way down and the short cut up… however… it’s never a shortcut with a kid on your back.

Must say… I LOVE THE BACKPACK. So did Chance. He laughed, giggled and talked the whole time.

There was a crazy couple there who had their wedding at the bottom of the canyon. All of their guests had to hike to the bottom to attend the ceremony and hike all the way back up. There were a few in sandals and heels. We even saw the bride hiking up in her wedding gown and heels. I think it’s absolutely silly! Oh well… it’s their wedding.

Pictures have been posted in the “Family Outtings” section.

Anyway… my sister, Helen, is in town for a few days. I’m pumped. I love having her around. It’ll be nice to be distracted from the craziness of life for a few days.
