My friend, Chris Clayton, put this video together.
Enjoy!
I’m home… and re-entry this year has been a million-bajillion times better than last year.
Part of it is because I planned it out more intentionally since I wasn’t really prepared last year. I was a mess last year. Since I knew what to expect this year, I set aside some alone time (I had Chance stay an extra evening with my in-laws). I threw in a load of laundry, showered for what seemed to be an eternity, and then slept in.
*SIGH*
I don’t have any of the pictures ready to post yet, so I’ll set that up soon. Thank you, to those who have been praying for me. The trip was amazing, worship was indescribable, and 5 Mexican families now have homes. Mission accomplished.
What you can do now is pray for my husband. There have been some obvious tragedies on the island, and his team needs prayer. It sounds like they are dealing with it well right now because they are in the midst of the chaos… but when they have a minute to breathe (or when they come home), I’m sure they will be struck with what they had to deal with.
Again… I’ll post my trip experience soon. For now, I’m going to finish laundry and get ready for a wonderful day with my son tomorrow.
I’ve missed him SO much!
I have recently been teased for not working hard enough to raise support for the upcoming Mexico Mission Trip I’ll be going on… so I thought I’d post something, in case anyone was feeling generous.
Here’s the breakdown:
From June 18th to June 25th I will be traveling with five churches and 100 people to Northern Mexico to build houses for the very poor. This will be my second consecutive year on this particular mission. You can CLICK HERE to check out pictures from last year, or read last years blogposts regarding my experience in Mexico starting HERE.
The group I am traveling with has been doing this for 18 years! This week-long trip was a very challenging but rewarding experience for me last year. We will be living in the dessert, sleeping in tents and providing our own food and water. There is no electricity or running water where we stay. We’ll be roughing it… FO SHO!
During the day we will travel into one of the many colonies that surround the South side of Tijuana, and we will build a series of homes for families that desperately need our help.
This year we plan on building five regular homes plus one double-wide. A
As many of you know, I had the privilege of going on a mission trip to Mexico with Amor Ministries last summer. My friend, Matt, invited me to lead worship that week and it was definitely one of the highlights of my life.
The planning for this upcoming years’ Mexico Mission has begun.
A blog, www.51weeks.org, has been started to help inform intercessors, contributors and missionaries regarding this years needs, concerns, requests and requirements. We’ll also be putting up videos, pictures, student testimonies and information for the upcoming trip. I’ve also been invited to be a contributing author on this site, so you NEVER know what’s in store. HA!
I will keep a link to 51weeks on my sidebar to the left for easy access to all. Please check it out and go there often. Quoting the great Matt Singley: "Grace and Peace to you!"
