Worship Confessional 11.07.07

Wildfire last night was definitely HIGH on the fun factor.

This was our Wi-Fi video.  SO CUTE!!!

It was nice to open with something everyone could laugh too.

Our game was “Turkey Bowl” where kids took turns throwing a frozen turkey down the “alley” and bowling pins.  Fully amusing!

The nights set was:

  1. Tell The World (Hillsong)
  2. Free (Hillsong)
  3. All Day (Hillsong)
  4. Psalm 113 (Glory)
  5. From The Inside Out  (Hillsong)

Janet described it as a “Middle School Set”.  Definitely high energy… it got me sweating jumping up and down and trying to continue singing with power.

However… something happened when we started Psalm 113.  Nothing technical or musical went wrong, but it was like the energy went straight down the pooper.  Many of the kids stopped jumping and singing and turned to each other to talk.  WHAT???

I’m gonna attribute this minor wreck to the fact that this was my first time playing the song with the team.  Not a great excuse… but it’s gonna have to work for now.

Hmmm… I’ll have to figure this one out.

We got them back at the end with From the Inside Out though.  It’s really quite sweet to be a part of 200+ middle school kids raising their hands in worship.

My job rocks!

Devotion

I’ve been running – trying to be one who sees
I’ve been working salvation out on my knees
There is nothing better than knowing we are redeemed

I’m believing – trusting in creative hands
I am praying for the world to bow to Your plan
And this one thought is unmistakable
I take up my cross and follow You, Lord

When You stand the tall trees and mountains bow
When You speak the fiercest of oceans is still
And I see the sinners seek devotion
The lost become chosen… and I fall to my knees

I’m forgiven by a Savior who did not deserve death
he was blameless and I was lost in shamefulness
I’m delivered but it doesn’t see right
Unless I keep my eyes focused on the Savior who gave His life

In the middle of a world that denies it believes
It is breaking apart at the very seams
There is one thing to be alive for
And it’s to take up this cross and follow You, Lord

I will take up my cross and follow, Lord where You lead me
I will take up my cross and follow wherever You go
