First… this year’s intro for Francis Chan (by Eric Bramlet):
Now… this is LAST years intro for Francis:
Just thought you’d enjoy that before you read my notes!
Speaker: Francis Chan
- Amos 5 – “Woe to those who are comfortable.”
- God is calling ME out of my comfort. But what/where is OUT?
- What types of leaders would we be if we heard the voice of the Lord and did not obey?
- Biggest desire needs to be to hear “Well Done” from God, not people.
- All that matters is that we get ready to face God. There is SO much on loan.
- Why are we thinking about retirement when the END is in sight.
- We’ve got so many pastors that seem to be “called” to the rich people. LOL!
- No one wants to care for the poor because we would have to suffer.
- I don’t only want the resurrection, but I also want the fellowship of the suffering.
- Mark 8:34
- Luke 6:22
- 2 Corinthian 1:5
- Galatians 6:12
- Ephesians 6
- Philippians 1:29
- Colossians 1:24
- When people look at my life, how are they seeing Jesus?
- You will feel the Holy Spirit when you are put up against the authorities.
- … when YOU’RE in danger.
- If I’m not listening, what kind of Pastor am I?
- Between you and God: ARE YOU REALLY AT PEACE WITH HIM?
- Forget the rest of America… I just wanna do what YOU want me to do.
- If you were stuck on an Island with only the Bible for years, would your really come back and invest all your time on a Sunday service?
I’m pretty exhausted right now… and I’m still processing all of this.
The reality is my heart is stirring right now, in ways I’m not sure I can really put into words yet… but I’m hoping soon I’ll be able to communicate it.

i am so glad Exponential was a powerful time for you. praying for you, sugarbean. enjoy the rollercoasters… literally (:
Wow. Those two intros are fly. [still laughing]. I don’t even know what to say…
Loved note #18.) You will feel the Holy Spirit when you are put up against the authorities. But it actually stirred another thing, which is putting it in a question: Will you will feel the Holy Spirit when you are put up against the authorities?
In other words, so often we feel things are of the Lord when they are flowing well. Work. Family. Ideas. But the moment we come up against authority, adversity, or confrontation, suddenly things are “not of the Lord.” We often don’t feel *lead* to do things if there is a lot of opposition.
Huh. Trying telling that to my Christian friends in China.
Great list, Jenni. Thanks for sharing! ch:
in #18, FC was actually talking about being “captured” and facing death. the “authorities” are those who have captured you and torturing you. we RARELY face that.. but what you’re saying is perfect truth too!
Holy CRAP those were cool intros!
Yeah. Eric is not right in the head… which is why he’s so awesome!
Thanks for the video intros! That guy is FANtastic! And Francis was blown away. Both years!
Thanks, too, for sharing your notes. I really liked the tweets you shared. Made me want more! And you delivered. Don’t know how. You are one fast tweeter!
Hi Jenni, this is my first time to your blog, although I can’t figure out WHY it has taken me so long to get here. Just these highlight notes from Francis Chan’s message were powerful to me. “When people look at my life, how are they seeing Jesus?” Wow. Thank you for this. Looking forward to reading more of your stuff.
Welcome, Grant! I just followed you too! So looking forward to gleaning more wisdom from you
