It’s Lookin’ Up…

The landlord situation is still not so pretty.

We’re just doing the best we can at this point to make it the best for all involved.  Though we haven’t done anything wrong and have been HORRIBLY wronged in this situation, we have not and will not be seeking revenge in any way… not that it hasn’t crossed our minds (come on… we ARE human!).

We want to THANK YOU for all your prayers.  We mean this in the most sincere way.  If there were a way for me to personally thank each and every one of you, I would.

God is hearing our prayers.

Through church friends, we’ve found TWO amazing options:

  1. A generous couple from our church have offered for us to live with them rent free for however long we need.
    • UPSIDE: Free, immediate access if we wanted, stay as long as we need, church community and did I mention FREE???
    • DOWNSIDE: Living with a couple we don’t really know while we’re adjusting to being a newly enlarged family of our own AND I got some baby blues.  Though the blues seem to be subsiding a bit for me, it’s still not pretty when it pops up.  I’m not sure I want others around during that.
  2. Our church friends found us an AWESOME, mostly furnished house in the Bethany area to rent for 90 days+ till we find the house we choose to buy.
    • UPSIDE: Mostly furnished, in the area, in our price range, time to adjust as a new family within four walls and landlords willing to let us stay short term (most everyone else is looking for a year long lease).
    • DOWNSIDE: well… it’s not free.

At this point… we’re just praying through which option to go for.  Our goal is to be totally out of this current house by the end of the year.

Our current landlords want us to be out in 15 days… but they haven’t gotten a court order to evict (and I doubt they’ve even started that process) so we don’t LEGALLY have to budge till that happens.  We don’t want to put them in a bad situation either, so we’re moving quickly… but not TOO quickly :)

This is how I feel about that:

Our next steps are:

  1. Packing into boxes- in an organized fashion.
    • what we won’t need in the transition home (back of the POD)
    • what we may need in the next 6 months (near the opening of the POD)
    • what we can’t live without in the next 3 months (to move into transition home)
  2. Some house shopping.
  3. Packing into a POD.
  4. Some more house shopping.
  5. MOVING
  6. Fitting Thanksgiving with family in there somewhere.
*SIGH*
