I stumble upon your blog every once in a while through Allison's. I recently watched the video of your husband "re-proposing" {& cried} without knowing the story. Now I have read your story and just wanted to tell you I deeply admire your honesty. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been (& still must be) but God is obviously blessing you because you did the difficult thing. I pray blessings on your marriage in the coming years. Your story will help so many. Congrats.

HA... seriously... Brian and I went to that our first year of marriage and again later. Yes, we got the tools we needed... but still never chose to use them.

So, it comes down to whether you practice of just let yourself go stagnant in relationships.

I love the openness you two have, not only about what you've gone through... but what got you there. My parents gave each of my siblings and Engaged Encounter weekend as an engagement gift so they would go on a retreat that made them discuss these things before they got married. I always thought it was a nice thing they did, but as I get older and see my friends learn in their marriages, I realize it was an amazing gift.
