I am by no means a prayer warrior (like my friend Melinda).
My prayers are usually quite selfish and sporadic at best. Other than the consistent bedtime prayer Brian and I have together and the prayer time we have with Chance every evening, I can’t claim to be consistent in my personal prayers at all.
With all that said, I feel that God is calling me to a day/weekend of prayer.
We have been greatly blessed recently
(we’ve moved, I don’t feel as nauseated ALL the time, ministry is going well, I really like my ministry partners, Ignite Night last night, my sister is getting married, etc.),
however, there are still so many things up in the air that I truly care about
(all the other ailments in pregnancy, finances… still, our care group that we do not lead well, soon leaving a ministry that I love so much, the Chapman family, etc.).
Again, these are all selfish things, if you haven’t noticed.
So I’ve decided to open this up to all my readers and more. I’ve asked you so often to pray for me… it’s time for me to do the same. The Bible tells us to pray continually and though I suck at it, I’m going to work on this specifically the next few days. I have tomorrow and Saturday off so this works well.
Please allow me the privilege of praying for you. If you post it below, I’m sure others can read it and pray for you too. We can be a praying community. But if your request is of a more private nature, please email me at:
This is a great time to reveal yourself too, if you’re a lurker. I’d love to get to you.
Okay, brothers and sisters — HIT IT!

My prayer request is connected to the Chapman family’s tragedy. Just that I would be more intentional with those little moments of the day with my kids. That I would take the time to “dance” with Ryan (age 13) who probably only has a few ways that he wants to engage right now; Kristen 10, – who probably wants to “dance” way more than she can express and Ethan (age 6) who seems to find a way to make sure that I know his needs and finds delight in so many little things in life. I feel so blessed!
You ARE blessed. I’m praying for you, Amy!

It’s really cool getting emailed prayer requests, my friends. Keep ‘em coming.
Your list was not a selfish list, loved one!
Jenni,
Please pray for our church plant in Salem, Oregon.
I have prayed for you today.
Know that you are loved,
gaj
This is a selfish prayer, but for me to finish my dissertation and have it be well-accepted. Also, I’m fundraising for Uganda…
Greg – I pray for you and your church plant often.
Helen – praying for that
