We were originally coming in for a Flex Sig (which I wrote about earlier HERE). But upon arriving, they told us they would rather be thorough while he was under. They would prefer to perform an Upper Endoscopy as well.

At this point, we welcomed that idea for these reasons:

1. It would take 10 minutes extra, MAX.
2. He’s already under anesthesia.
3. We’re already rocking out our flippin’ HIGH deductible… why not.

The last thing we want is to have to come in for another procedure because they didn’t check everything out the first time around. Basically, today, they explored everything between his mouth down to his pooper (save a small turn from his small intestines to large intestines. The turn was too complicated to maneuver through for a baby his size).

Paxton was a champ. We showed up at 6:30am and left a bit before 10:30am. They had him in and out of there within a little over an hour and other than being a little loopy afterwards, he seems fine. Here’s what they saw:

A PERFECTLY HEALTHY GI TRACT

Other than a couple of fissures around his rectal area, there wasn’t anything that could explain the amount of blood in his stool we’ve experienced since he was 3 months old. No polyps, no intestinal tearing, no inflammation. Just perfect, pink baby guts.

This is incredibly GREAT news… and incredibly frustrating all at the same time. We are SO glad we are cutting out possibilities of what he could be suffering from, but were hoping to find more answers than this. The good news is we can now check THIS off the list.

They DID, however, take samples from his upper GI & lower GI. They are not ruling out possible diseases. They did blood work in earlier tests to find that he has the genetic match-up of possibly having Celiac Disease. They are doing further testing and will contact us when tests return.

Please continue praying for our little Paxton. We have been so humbled and grateful for all who’ve rallied around us already. I’m getting teary-eyed just thinking about all the prayers you guys have whispered on our behalf. THANK YOU!

He’s passed a few milestones.  He can:

1. Crawl… FAST.
2. Pull himself up on furniture.
3. Feed himself small snacks.
4. Say, “Da-Da”.

So, during lunch today, I thought it would be as good of a time as any to teach him to say, “Mama”.  Here’s some video of how THAT went.

What were YOUR first words?

I am continually blown away by how amazingly wonderful this little boy is.  He completes our family… he makes us even better than we could have ever known.

Pax is easy-going, cuddly, mostly happy, and easily MADE happy when upset.  His face lights up when Chance, Brian or I walk into the room.  His laugh is contagious.  Brian and I are praying that he will have an amazing impact on this world one day.  Knowing his personality now, I’m sure God will do GREAT things through him.

His current “statuses”:

• His two bottom baby teeth are out and sharp as ever.
• He’s crawling… FAST.
• He can pull himself up to standing.
• He can SOMETIMES get himself back down
• He only sleeps 6 hours at night. Ugh!
• He can feed himself little snacks.

I love that he’s growing into his personality… but I wouldn’t mind if he’d stay a baby a bit longer too

P.S.  Today is my sister, Renee, and my brother-in-law, Jason’s, wedding anniversary.  Happy first year.  I think your first years’ gift is paper.  If you print this up, this will be by gift to you.  Sorry… the economy, ya know.

P.P.S.  Today would also have been Scott Resnick’s 40th birthday.  Happy Birthday, Skilly!  We still miss you.

He’s sitting up by himself, he’s crawling… he’s mobile people.

I love how he laughs.

Yes… he is the cutest baby ever.

I can’t believe he’s crawling.  Just in time for our move… and just in time for us to start babyproofing.

He had his 6 month check-up this morning and he did great.  

Here are his stats:

Weight:  15 lbs 7 oz (12%)
Height:  28 in (91%)
Head Circumference: 43.5 cm (38%)

When Chance was 6 months, his stats were:

Weight: 16 lbs 14 oz (45%)
Height:  27.5 in (85%)
Head Circumference: 45 cm (85%) 

Apparently, the two boys are nothing alike  That’s ok!
