Paxton – 3 weeks

Actually… he’s not three weeks old till tomorrow… but close enough, right?

My little punkin’ has already changed so much.

I wish you could see his dimple on this last one… but he’s covering it up.

He’s still the best little baby, quiet and sweet.  He only wakes up once a night for a feed and doesn’t complain much.  He makes my life more whole :)

Brian posted a lot for me while we were in the hospital… but I thought I’d post pictures of all the people who came to visit us there and give a “shout-out”.

Over the four days we were there, we got 12 visitors:

My very first visitor was Matt Payne… but I didn’t get to see him yet because I was in recovery.  Way to be first, friend.  ”If you’re not first… you’re last!”  He also came back on Saturday.  Here’s the pic from then:

Chance, Paxton and me the first night at the hospital.

One of my BFF’s, Holly and Paxton.

Rose Braun… who came by three times in the 4 days I was there.  She’s SO awesome!

The Whitacre family.

My sweet, funny friend, Angela Ulwelling.

Brian’s Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Bob. We had a stretch of 4 generations of Clayville’s in the room.

My mom, who has helped me with Chance, food and life at home ALL week. She’s amazing!!!

My sister and her husband, Jason. Don’t they look like an insta-family here with our kids. They visited every day I was in the hospital. They’re back in L.A. now.

The Wilson Family. First Jenn & Hannah… then Matt & David. They visited in shifts :)

One of our favorite family friends, The McKenney’s: Jay, Allison, Macy & Ava.

I love this next picture with Jay & Ava up front and Alli, Macy & Paxton in the background.

Cindy & Allie Payne. They came a different shift than Matt, obviously.

Kristen Lynam… who has held both my babies when they were weeks old.

Uncle Kevin (also known as “uncle shoes”) – Brian’s brother.  Casie, his girlfriend, was there too, but for some reason, we didn’t get a picture of her holding Pax.

Thanks to all my friends who visited at the hospital.  And thanks to all who WANTED to make it but couldn’t.  No hard feelings.  We’re just thankful for your prayers and well wishes.

We’re obviously home now.  Life is crazy as you probably know by reading previous posts… but family is good.  Chance is LOVING his little brother and is SO helpful.

Paxton isn’t gaining weight as quickly as the doctors would like, so we’re on a “weight gain” plan.  Pax likes to sleep… so unfortunately, we have to wake him up often to feed him.  It sucks.  Apparently, he gets tired “at the breast” so he just quits before he’s had enough… so I have to pump and feed him from a bottle to fatten him up.

Here’s Chance feeding Paxton from the bottle.  How cute is he :)

Here is what I’m looking at right now.  Too bad I have to wake him up now for the “weight gain” plan.  LAME!

Countdown – We’ve Arrived!

Today is the day.

Today…

  1. Chance will no longer be an only child.
  2. I’ll find out how it feels to love more than one kid with all my heart.
  3. I will be very aware someone important to me is missing.
  4. My sister, Renee, and her husband, Jason, is coming into town.
  5. I’ll cry because my heart will never be the same.
  6. All my organs will shift around inside of me.
  7. I will cry over feelings words could never express.
  8. I will most likely not get to eat.
  9. My weight will drop at least 15 pounds.
  10. The world, as I know it, will be changed forever.
