And how do I prevent this?

    Oh…fresh basil, the yummiest of herbs to all the insect kingdom…

    Any number of bugs might have done it…you could try spraying with soapy water.

    Though someone will prorably have a more specific answer for your local situation…

    David – totally did the soapy spray thing. let’s see how that works.

    Vince – are you serious? am i keeping vampires away?

    Renee – you “FEEL” like a slug would do that? my planter is suspended over the deck railing… so maybe not. and vince isn’t you… it’s the commenter above you. you’re funny!

    No, I was the commenter about the slug.. but it posted up as Vince.. unless we posted the exact same thing at the exact same time?

    OOOOHHHH I SEEEEE.. “Vince” is the garlic guy. Somehow it popped up on my slug comment. hmm. Well, slugs can climb UP things.. little ones.. scary!
