Work Update – It’s About Time :)

Here’s part of an email I sent my worship team.  Thought you’d all like the update too:

All camps are over now, and we have one Overflow Program left.  I know I kind of left it up in the air regarding what’s going on with staff/leadership for Worship Team next year.  It’s not because I didn’t want to communicate (some of you have been antsy and have emailed me for details… sorry I couldn’t give you anything till now), but there simply weren’t any cemented decisions made until now. 

So here’s the update:

I have resigned my position here at Sunset. 

The main reason is I don’t think I could give my 100% to a 50+ hour job with a newborn and a 3 year-old.  The second reason is the Director or Student Worship position has been completely eliminated from the program.  Due to budgetary concerns, the church has had to lay-off/take away hours from every department here.  So, since I resigned, the easiest position to eliminate in the Students Department was Worship.  Please pray for Sunset… this is NOT an easy thing for them to do.

For those who are worried… that decision was made AFTER I resigned so there are no hard feelings on my part here.  They have treated me very well here and have worked hard to make sure I know that I was not only appreciated in my role but valued.  To my understanding, they are currently working on how to provide adequate leadership for this ministry.  Again, this is not just Student’s department, but a church-wide decision. 

This week’s Overflow will be my last program at Sunset.  I’ll still be floating around in the office at the beginning of August to tie up loose ends, but for the most part, my last day will be Sunday (at least to the public eye).

As for the Clayville Family – we live in the Bethany. We’re not moving.

I’ve just accepted a position at a Church! At Bethany as the Worship Pastor there, so I will DEFINITELY still be around. I start there September 1st. Our family is looking forward to this new adventure.

I’m also due to have this second baby on November 7th at St. Vincent’s Hospital. It’s a pretty set date since I’m having a C-Section.

It has been an absolutely privilege serving with all of you this second time around. I will always have fond memories of each and every one of you. My home is always open to you guys to just drop by if you want… and I’m ALWAYS available for coffee, lunch or shopping

On this note… many positions have been eliminated at Sunset. Every department has had to give up hours which means more work for those remaining, but also loss of jobs for others. Please pray for ministry to continue here… even flourish.
