Worship Confessional – 02.01.09

Today was the last day of our 30 Days to Live Series.

Whenever we wrap up a series, I wonder how much of what Matt says is actually taken to heart… enough for them to take action.  Time will tell, I guess.

The Set:

  1. Let The Praises Ring – Lincoln Brewster
  2. Forever – Chris Tomlin
  3. Meet With Me – Ten Shekel Shirt
  4. Desert Song – Brooke Fraser
  5. Hosanna – Brooke Fraser
  6. Till I See You – Joel Houston
  7. Jesus Paid It All – Kristian Stanfill

I had an allergy attack yesterday.  I think it was cat allergies, but I’m not totally sure.  You see… when I get about, oh let’s say, 20 miles to a cat, my eyes tear up, my throat closes up and my face blows up.  It lasts a couple of days.

At least, I AM sure I’m not sick because I feel a million times better today.  I had a pretty bad allergy hangover today though and I felt like it totally affected my voice in leading worship this morning.

With that said, I still felt that today’s service went really well.  Everything ran REALLY smoothly and connected.

How was YOUR weekend service?

Skiing on sunny Mt. Hood this weekend with my mom and friends. Going to go to church next Sunday though!

Top ten things I liked about yesterday’s worship service: (in no particular order)

    10. Someone re-grouped the chairs in the sanctuary, to allow wider aisles…and it allowed more people to sit further front…
    9. The worship band was placed on the stage, rather than to the right — this is important, because that group has grown and now includes grand piano, keyboard, drums and percussion, two acoustic and two electric guitars, two violinists and a flautist. The acoustics this way allowed you to hear the individual instruments.
    8. Communion – the way that Christ continues to connect with us.
    7. Our associate pastor was spreading thanks to church members for their work this past week involving a Leadership Retreat.
    6. The first message in a series about Abraham. Our teaching pastor is very gifted in his study and teaching of Scripture.
    5. I enjoy the fellowship before and after the service.
    4. New faces!!! Several 20-30 somethings.
    3. Praise and worship music. Touching my heart; convicting and bringing tears to my eyes.
    2. Confession before communion – a time to evaluate and ask for forgiveness.
    1. Children sitting through the entire service and families sitting together – several generations in some cases :)

Jenni, thank you for serving with your gifts. Have a blessed week,
