I’m gonna have to make this short and sweet.
We came back from Seattle late last night and so now I’m trying to catch up on some chores before the next week begins.
Today’s Sunday Setlist:
- Not To Us – Chris Tomlin
- Open The Eyes of My Heart – Paul Baloche
- Indescribable – Laura Story
- To The Ends of the Earth – Joel Houston
- Holy Is The Lord – Chris Tomlin
- I Worship You – Generation Unleashed
- You Are My World – Darlene Zschech
Highlights: I had Rebecca leading alongside me today. I haven’t had the chance to sing with her for months, so that was a nice treat. Two guitars and two vocals today. Simple simple. Today was also just a really good day. Everything felt right… that’s a blessing. We started 5 minutes late and ended RIGHT ON TIME. Awesome!!!
Lowlights: I’m not really sure why the left side of the screen is cut off. It just about drives me nuts that the visuals aren’t perfectly centered because the margins are off. We’ve tried everything with the settings and nothing seems to be helping. Boo hiss!!! All this means is I have to plan carefully in our lyrics and talk graphics so that the words don’t go all the way to the edges.
We’re in the Suburban Legends Series right now.

Today’s talk was on a how to raise kids… not just happy kids… but HOW to raise them with Biblical principles. I really enjoyed it.
As a parent, it encouraged me that I was doing some things right… on the other hand, it also reinforced that I need to tighten up in some areas of discipline for my kids. Mostly in my intentionality of breathing God’s Word into their lives.
So… you’re turn:
What was the best thing your parents did for you when you were a kid?

Easy.
Exactly that last line you wrote about intentionally breathing God’s word in my life and my sisters lives
And now I’m loving seeing that being done by family and friends into their kids too.

When I was a teen in a serious, long term relationship, my dad looked at me and said, no matter what happens in your life … even if you were to get pregnant, you come home and we’ll deal with it. Since he was a pastor in a conservative church, and would have for sure lost his job, that was huge! Complete unconditional love and acceptance … mistakes and all!

In high school, my mom made me drop accelerated Chemistry II and take choir my senior year.. All my friends were jocks or English nerds and I had no musical influences. She knew I should be a vocalist and musician and gave me the push I needed to try it.
