I thought I’d start Worship Confessionals for when I lead at LifeGroup Online (LGO) since I AM leading worship there and it’s definitely a WAY different experience than what I do in front of a LIVE in-person congregation.
LGO is currently going through The Search For Significance by Robert McGee. This is one of my favorite books (I think I’ve gone through it 4 times now and I learn something new in it EVERY SINGLE TIME) so I was excited to share this with LGO.
Last night, we started with 3 songs and responded with 1 more:
- You Alone – David Crowder
- Not To Us – Chris Tomlin
- How Great Is Our God – Chris Tomlin
- You’ll Come – Brooke Fraser
It was a strange experience seeing faces looking back at me on Tokbox. Of course everyone muted themselves (eventually). Some people were singing along, and some just sat and watched… sorta like church
So, what do YOU think about Lifegroup Online? If you were there… how can we make the worship experience part better? If you weren’t there, what are your thoughts of a web-based lifegroup in general??

Next week, next week, next week.
Oh, and do the other singers get to add harmonies every now and then?
ABSOLUTELY, David. If you don’t mute yourself, then you’re singing with me
I have really enjoyed the worship…you have introduced me to some of my favorite new songs and I have learned a new way to worship…I mean how many people worship with people in all different states (and next week countries!) at the same time in the same place. I feel a little weird about singing aloud in a room by myself but I soon get over that
So to sum it up…It Rocks!
okay even though I didnt get to participate this week. I think LGO rocks. It has been a great way for me to have a middle of the week pick me up with worship and Word and great fellowship. It will be a bit different on tokbox with worship, but still totally grand. I love the songs we sing and I enjoy the whole experience.
you know i be lovin’ it.
I thought it was great! I don’t mind singing out loud even if no one around me heard any music. I do it all the time to my neighbors.
I just need to get rid of my own personal distractions *cough, kids, cough* oh & da hubby. It’s a little hard because that’s about the time he gets home from work.
